Kinpanion ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of the families we serve and the parents our system watches over. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information. We operate under Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA federally, and PHIPA in Ontario where applicable. We do not claim certifications we have not earned.

What we collect

Through the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide — typically a name, email address, optional phone number, and a short description of your situation. Through our service, we collect device-derived data needed to operate fall detection, exit alerts, and other monitoring features.

What we don't capture

The Kinpanion camera performs detection on-device. We do not produce a video feed of your parent's home for anyone to watch, and we do not store recognizable video for review. The app shows a privacy-safe stick figure rendering of detected events, never a face or live feed.

How we use information

We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, set up your service, and provide ongoing monitoring. We use device-derived data to detect and alert on safety events. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Devices and data lifecycle

Kinpanion devices are leased. On cancellation, devices are reclaimed and factory-wiped. Derived health and activity data associated with the account is purged in accordance with our retention practices.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the service (e.g. cloud hosting, payment processing, the lead-capture endpoint). We do not share information for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact us at hello@kinpanion.com with any privacy request and we will respond as required under PIPEDA.

Children

Kinpanion services are designed for older adults and their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active customers.
